Pre-school and Play Scheme fun – Summer 2016

Educational, engaging activities this summer at Mary’s

Working with parents is an integral part of what we do within the preschool at Mary’s. This past summekids1r, parents supported the preschool’s visit to Islington Museum in an exploration of art and history. Children were able to fully and freely engage in the activities and displays with parents and staff. For Samuel and his mum (pictured below) this was their first experience on a trip such as this in England. Samuel was able to expand on new English words and share the experience proudly with his peers and mum, whilst other children explored colour, texture and sound using the sound pads made by children at an Islington school.

We are very thankful as we couldn’t do these types of activities without the help and support of parents. We equally had to say a big thank you to Reverend Gloria Naylor for leading the end of year service celebration for the preschoolkids3.This year Gloria put a lot of work into creating a story related to the children’s journey though Mary’s.

Our playscheme was equally a great success this summer and we are grateful that we had the support of Reverend Gloria Naylor to lead the way with Urban arts and Nail art with the children and staff. The children really engaged in the experience and requested a repeat of the activities several times within the scheme.

Both girls and boys joined in producing wonderful creations. Boys got really engaged in cooking kids2activities with competitions determining who made the best pizza. All great fun!
