Most of our visitors think it’s Alison. Since she heads up the reception desk at our Neighbourhood Centre, she’s usually the first face they see.
“I’ve been working as part of the bookings team at Mary’s for just under a year and am so lucky to work with fantastic colleagues and also to meet the nicest people, who often come to Mary’s on a daily basis and whom I really get to know. I have my own lovely family – my partner and two children, who are 11 and 9 (not to mention Marley, our boxer dog, who often get compared to a small Shetland pony!) – but Mary’s feels like one big family too.
With my smaller family, I love to travel. We’ve been to Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, Spain, France and have just booked our holiday to Jamaica next year. We love all the different food but my favourite is Caribbean so I’m really looking forward to our trip to Jamaica. And, if you see someone nibbling on a piece of cheese at Mary’s, it’ll be me. I adore cheese…any cheese, Blue, Brie, Camembert, Feta, Cheddar, Halloumi…the list is endless!
I used to be a keen horse rider and, in my teens, I represented Camden in the London Youth Games for 3 years. Now I only ever get to ride when I’m on holiday – life is so busy. But that’s what I enjoy about being part of Mary’s team. It’s so exciting to seeing it becoming more and more the hub of the local community”.
